China's tech giant Alibaba to invest $160m to build a connected car

China's biggest tech giant Alibaba to partner with china's largest car maker SAIC Motor to build a connected car. The car could communicate with other cars via the cloud data. Recently, Chinese government suggested tech companies to take up innovative ideas in auto industry. And Alibaba seems to take the suggestion quite seriously.

With this annoucement, Alibaba joins the list of tech giants like Google, Apple who started making investment in similar industry. While Google and Apple are more into car-app and smartphone experience, Alibaba eyeing cloud computing and predictive data analytics.
