WhatsApp hits 800 million active users

April 19, 2015: WhatsApp took Facebook as platform to announce that they have reached 800 million users.

                      

WhatsApp founder Jan Koum in his post says: "WhatsApp- now serving 800,000,000 monthly active users," he further adds with a smiliing emotion, "Reminder for the press out there: active and registered users are not the same thing."

WhatsApp has been acquired by Facebook for $22bn last year when the active users were around 400 million. The facebook own messaging platform surpassed 600 million users.
