Modern science made world's first penis transplant surgery possible

Cape town doctors of Stellenbosch University and the Tygerberg Hospital performed the world's first successful transplant of an organ previously consider not easy to transplant, as per Bloomberg reports.

The transplant went smooth and patient made full recovery and regained all functions of the transplanted organ soon after the operation. It was a nine hour operation done on 21 year old patient in December. The expected recovery period was 2 years but patient recovered way before than expected recovery time.

The transplant was a penis which was transplanted from a donor to a patient who lost his organ three years ago after complication following a circumcision procedure in the country. Now the patient is fully active and can choose to have children in the future.
