3 Startups that scaling up in India

India, and China are the hottest destination for startups to leverage the opportunities to make their presence felt, by solving the umpteen problems these developing countries going through. Here are our three hot startups that scaling up in this environment.

Hansel.io

Hansel Software Pvt Ltd operates a toolkit for mobile application developers called Hansel.io, the company raise an undisclosed amount in a seed funding round led by the early stage venture capitalist firm Endiya Partners and Tracxcn Lab.

Founded in October 2015 by Raman Ramamurtny, Parminder Singh and Mudit Mathur, Hansel.io helps mobile app developers manage apps while they're running. It allows to fix crashes at runtime and communicate with users. The service includes detecting bugs instantly, which makes it easier for developers to improve user experiences.

While speaking to Techcircle.in, one of the investor says in his statement, “With more than 3 million apps vying for customer attention across different operating systems and corresponding increase in costs for acquisition, it becomes imperative to deliver superior runtime experience for customers on the mobile platform in order to retain them,”

Shop Kirana

Shop Kirana is Indore based B2B startup that connects the retailer businesses with supply businesses with an app, the startup raised an undisclosed amount of funding this week from Samsung Global Headquarters, and from another startup Holachef.

Within a year of its operation, ShopKirana already had many retailers in its basket with 10 big brands integrated into the system. The company plans to reach 10,000 retailers and aims at hitting 20,000 within a month.

Founded in February 2015 by Tanutejas Saraswat, Sumit Ghorawat and Deepak Dhanotiya, the startup aims to use the funding to upgrade their tech platform and to expand in other cities India by end of 2016.

"We are creating a dent in the retail universe by giving the power of technology in the hands of the most traditional and oldest business owner in this country, i.e., the kirana store," says Tanutejas Saraswat, co-founder of ShopKirana.

Stylofie

Founded in September 2015, Stylofie is a Gurgaon-based startup that provides a online marketplace for salons/spas around Delhi. The startup claims to have onboard 250 salons and over 20,000 consumers.

Stylofie caters a tech platform for discovery, reviews, comparisions, payment and booking website, and a mobile app for consumers. It helps customers pick the beauty treatment of their choice, select their location and salon they want to visit, with date and time of their choice.

The company this month received an undisclosed amount in funding from IDC South Asia. They plan to expand across the Delhi NCR (National Capital Region) later this month with the funding, and also to prepare for series A funding.

One of the co-founder Saurav Dey says, “If you look closely at the beauty and wellness industry, you will realise that it is primarily offline with bundled deals getting peddled on online deal platforms. From a consumer perspective, think about long waiting times on weekends, lack of a standardised review/rating mechanism for discovery and non-availability of rate cards online – all pain-points which called out for a solution.”

Last year, the company receives the funding of $250K from Hong-Kong based Swastika Company limited.
