April 23, 2015: In a press release today, Samsung Electronics announced that the selected members of android global developer community will get an early access to the Software Developement Kit (SDK) of the company's upcoming Gear smartwatch device with graphic images. This will be the company's 7th generation of Gear wrist watch and it will have a round screen.
JK Chin, Samsung's CEO, says: "Samsung has actively adapted its approach to wearable device development as the leader of the rapidly developing category," He further adds, "Through meaningful and progressive innovation, Samsung welcomes to developers and industry leaders to join this open collobration effort to enrich and create unique user experiences for a new smart mobile life."
This will be the first time the tech giant allowed SDK to third party developers before the official announcement, in a strategic move to counter the Apple's smartwatch hype.
Developers has to sign up as the member of the community by submitting an application to Samsung's developer website. To join the program and to know more details, visit http://developer.samsung.com/wearable
