Facebook introduces real-time sports platform

Facebook from long argued that their platform is the best place to talk live events, to further that argument, on late Wednesday night, Facebook newsroom announced a real-time sports platform, which they claims to cater 650 million sports fan.

Facebook Sports stadium will be a place where people can cheer up their favorite team, celebrate and comment with friends while watching the entire commentary and updates in real-time. All the contents related to the particular game with friends posts, likes and everything will appear on one place in proper chronological order.

The real-time updates are similar to Yahoo or ESPN live updates, but Facebook stadium feature relies entirely on Facebook content. One tab will be for friends updates related to that game, and other tab will serve the experts (verified users) comments.

This feature is currently available for users in United States for American Football game and supports only iPhone. The feature will be roll out on other platforms in coming weeks.
