Yahoo taking exit from china, hundreds of staff will be laid off

March 19, 2015: In a bid to downsize it's operations in places where they have no services actively running, Yahoo taking a exit from china by closing its research center in Beijing, as per SCMP reports. The hundreds of staff working there will be laid off.

In a statement, Yahoo said, " We are constantly making changes to align resources, and to foster better collaboration and innovation across our business. Today we informed our employees based in Beijing that we will be closing our office there."

Yahoo used to ran Yahoo service from Beijing office in China, but with all it's consumer activities including email, web portal and other services are discontinued, it was became a research center later.
